Hi, I'm Joe — the guy behind Joe Fixit.

By day, I'm a high-school math teacher. That schedule actually works in your favor — summers and school breaks are when I can take on bigger projects with full attention, and the rest of the year I'm available for jobs on evenings and weekends.

I've been doing home repair and remodeling work for years — long before Joe Fixit existed as a business. It used to be word-of-mouth and handshake agreements. Now it's licensed, insured, and built around the same standards, just with the paperwork to back it up.

My own house is a good example of what that experience looks like in practice. My wife Adrienne and I bought a 1940s cottage in East Hampton that needed real work, and so far we've gutted it, rewired it, replumbed it, replaced the roof,  relandscaped it, and built custom cabinetry from scratch — the kind of project most people assume needs a big contracting outfit. Adrienne is the design genius behind a lot of those decisions, and she's just as comfortable with a drill in her hand as she is with a floor plan.

That's the standard Joe Fixit is built on. I'm not just a handyman patching things up — I take on real projects: bathroom renovations, decks, kitchens, structural repairs, and the kind of work that requires actually understanding how a house goes together.

We keep pricing transparent. We build your materials list together and you purchase directly — no markup, no guessing what you're paying for. You'll always know exactly where your money is going.

I explain things clearly. Teaching is my day job for a reason — I'm comfortable walking you through what a project actually involves and why, without the jargon.

I treat every house like it's mine. Probably because I've spent the last few years renovating my own from the studs out, and I know what it feels like to live inside a project.
